Trade Cards

This first edition print of Boss Battle Chess cards is designed to function both as a trading card system for kids to enjoy and a game that can be played in a flexible manner.

Flexible Rules

We encourage players to be flexible with these rules and adapt them as they see fit! Change the rules and find fun ways to play creatively and learn chess at the same time!

Creative Fun

Each box contains a full set of 50 playing cards that can be used to create decks for playing.

Collect Rares

Boxes also contain 4 holographic super rares for people to collect and trade!

Simple Rules

The base rules are so simple that we are confident players of all skill levels can participate!

Reward System

To chess educators remember that these cards double as a fun reward system! Let your students earn their own cards when they complete their homework and excel in learning!

Game Rules

Construct a deck of any size with only one of each creature type.

Players may use shared or personal decks.

Card hit points are in the lower right corner. Capturing a piece allows damage to be dealt to any card. Cards at zero health are removed from the game.

Damage values: Queens - 9, Rooks - 5, Knights/Bishops - 3, Pawns - 1.

Each player starts with one card, playable from move 3 onward.

When all players are out of cards, each draws one immediately.

Only one card in play per player, playable only before moving on their turn.

Used cards move to the draw deck bottom, staying in play until resolved or destroyed, benefiting a player once.

Pawn warp: Place a pawn on ranks 2-4 for white or 7-5 for black, but not on the back rank. Pawns on rank 2 or 7 may move two squares initially.

Maximum of 8 pawns per player. Extra pawn effects beyond this limit are voided.
